 Lenovo: Hands-on IdeaPad U110
Lenovo present the new lineup of IdeaPad laptop notebooks on display at last night CES. The IdeaPad U110 is particularly appealing as 11.1” sub-notebook; the main striking thing about the design of IdeaPad U110 is probably the lid, its sizzling red-hot and has sort of florid pattern to it– not anything like we’ve seen in a this notebook before. The other striking thing is the QWERTY keyboard. It’s very different and very shiny to some other Lenovo keyboard. Note that the buttons are flushed right up against all other and the keyboard has a smooth finish.

During a rapid first test I found the notebook keyboard hard to use and pretty mushy.  The advantage is that as all key are flushed up on keyboard and against the next, the standard key size is larger than what you’ll get on mainly ultra portables with an 11.1” display form factor. The good news is that the U110 is that it’s very easy to carry around at just 2.4lbs of weight.
